Pilaf with almonds and dry fruits
Ingredients you need:
- Basmati rice
- Clarified butter or oil
- Onion (chopped
- Garlic cloves (minced)
- Turmeric powder
- Cumin powder
- Coriander powder
- Chilli powder
- Black pepper powder
- Salt per taste
- Almonds finely chopped
- Assorted dry fruits (raisins, pistachios, etc.)
Cooking method:
- Rinse the basmati rice until water runs clear. Soak it in water for a few minutes. Drain the rice and keep it aside.
- Take a pan and add the clarified butter to it. Let it melt over low heat.
- Add chopped onions and fry until translucent.
- Add garlic and all the spices. Stir in well until fragrant.
- Add rice and stir it continuously.
- Now add water, pepper, and salt. Bring the mix to a boil.
- Cover the lid and cook the mix over low heat for about 15 minutes.
- Once done, open the lid and add the dry fruits. Let it sit on the top.
- Now add the almonds, fluff the rice using a fork, serve and enjoy hot!
