Easy Way to Cook Arabian Madghout Rice Recipe

 Arab is not only culturally rich, but it has a remarkable history of delicious cuisines famous worldwide. The Arabian madghout rice is one such dish that you can enjoy on any occasion. The palatable dish is prepared using quality basmati rice, chicken, and spices.

Here we’ll see how to make Arabian chicken madghout rice recipe in an easy way. So, let’s get started!

Ingredients you need for chicken madghout:

  • 5 tbsp oil 
  • 3 cups basmati rice
  • 1 kg chicken cut into pieces 
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 6.5 cups water
  • 1 tomato (diced)
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 dried lime
  • 4 cardamom
  • 6-7 cloves
  • 2 whole green chillies 
  • 1 tbsp any Arabian spice or kabsa spice
  • 200g tomato paste
  • Salt to taste

Cooking method:

  • Take a heavy-bottomed pot and add oil to it. Set the heat to medium high. 
  • Once the oil is heated, add diced onions and sauté until soft. Add the diced tomato and cook until it becomes tender. Once the onion and tomato are cooked, add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté it until fragrant. 
  • Meanwhile boil 6.5 cups of water. Rinse, soak, and drain the basmati rice.  
  • Now add the chicken pieces to sautéed onion, tomato, and ginger-garlic paste. Set the heat to high and cook for about five minutes by flipping the pieces.
  • Now add the boiling water along with cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, bay leaf, green chilli, kabsa powder, salt, tomato paste, and mix it well. 
  • Add boiling water to this and add all the raw spices and powder spices along with the tomato paste, salt, and mix well. 
  • Now add the drained rice and use a spatula to mix every ingredient well.  
  • Close the lid and cook it for about 7 minutes. Cook it for one whistle in traditional cooker. For non-stick cooker, let it cook until the water is absorbed. 
  • And if you’re making it in pan, keep checking at fixed intervals. Once the rice is cooked perfectly, turn off the heat and let it sit there for about 10 minutes.
  • Fluff the rice using a fork, transfer into a plate and serve hot!
