Hashweh with Lebanese Rice Pilaf Recipe
Hashweh is a Lebanese rice recipe that is loaded with Middle Eastern flavours. This recipe features basmati rice with vermicelli, ground beef or lamb, spice mix, and pine nuts.
This Lebanese rice pilaf recipe is ideal for days when you want a quick dinner without compromising on flvaours, aroma, and taste.

Ingredients you need:
- Beef or lamb meat (you can also use ground chicken)
- Vermicelli pasta
- Basmati rice
- Ghee (clarified butter)
- Pine nuts
- Onions (chopped)
- Cinnamon
- Black pepper
- Freshly chopped parsley
- Lemon
- Salt to taste
- Water or chicken stock
Cooking method:
- Take the basmati rice in a bowl and rinse it well until the water runs clear. Once done, set it aside.
- Now take a large pan, add clarified butter and roast the vermicelli until brown. Keep stirring it in between to avoid burning.
- Add rice, cinnamon, pepper, and salt to the vermicelli pan. Mix everything well. Roast the mixture for about two minutes.
- Now add water or chicken stock to the pan. Stir to mix it well with all the ingredients. Bring to mix to a boil. Set the heat to low, cover the pan and let it simmer for 15 minutes. After the rice is cooked, turn off the heat and fluff the rice using a fork.
- While the rice and vermicelli pilaf simmers, heat 1 tsp of clarified butter on a deep skillet. Add pine nuts and sauté until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
- Heat the same skillet and add the remaining clarified butter. Add chopped onions and sauté for about 5 minutes.
- Now add the ground meat, pepper, salt, and other spices. Cook the meat until brown. Use a fork or spoon to break it. Cook it for about 8 to 10 minutes. Now add the roasted pine nuts and combine all the ingredients well.
- Add the rice and hashweh together, garnish with lemon and parsley to enjoy.
